Increase your dog's longevity, improve quality of life and minimize vet bills.
Your dog has complex nutritional needs. Our dog food and supplements, combined with our staff's expertise, can meet those needs. Our business is supplying food for your pet, the best we can find. Chuck & Don's carries a wide variety of dog foods including organic and holistic that use human-grade meats, select grains, vegetables and herbs. The right diet means less chance of disease, fewer disorders, fewer vet bills and a happier dog.
Different food for different breeds.
Different breeds can have dramatically different nutritional needs. An active job or lifestyle, for instance, may require a high fat diet (see sidebar). Ask our store team about what we have specific to your dog's breed or occupation.
Food and supplements formulated for age groups and other conditions.
Nutrition and diet are especially critical for puppies and senior dogs. Most of our pet food lines feature age-specific food. Lower fat, protein and calories are desirable for older dogs, the opposite for puppies. Other specialized dog food and supplements address allergies, diabetes, vitamin deficiencies, urinary tract and kidney issues and a multitude of other conditions.
Less is more.
A dog will actually consume less of higher quality food than the filler-diluted, over-processed low quality fare. Dogs will also be more prone to clean their plate when fed quality food. One will need to buy less of our food to replace low quality pet food.
Promote exercise with diet.
Arthritis, weight gain and other effects of aging will restrict your dog's inclination to exercise. A sedentary lifestyle can have many of the same long-term negative effects it does on a human. A good diet will give your dog more energy. Appropriate supplements can improve joint health of older dogs making exercise more enjoyable.

Fat content
Fat is an important component in your dog's diet, regulating cholesterol, aiding the immune system and absorption of vitamins to name a few. Quantity is the issue. At one extreme is an indoor dog with a sedentary lifestyle, to whom high fat content will contribute to obesity. Optimal fat content for him is 10-15% At the other end of the spectrum are working dogs. A sled dog might need as much as 65% fat content in his diet, a herding dog 45-50%.
