Through the depth of our expertise and quality of our products we strive to improve the quality of life for pets and their owners. Our commitment to animals goes well beyond that. Since its inception, Chuck & Dons has been involved in a wide variety of community-based initiatives.
Even though Chuck & Don's presence in the Colorado market is relatively new, we have been actively involved in the Denver community. It didn't take long after opening our first store in Cherry Creek in late January, 2011, for Chuck & Don's to demonstrate its commitment to pets and animal welfare. Since the opening, the Cherry Creek Chuck & Don's team has participated or contributed to the following events and organizations: the Furry Scurry, Taggin' Waggin', Pura Vida Pur-A-Thon, Pheasants Forever annual fundraiser, Rocky Mountain Dock Dogs, Lucky Mutt Strut, and more.
Chuck & Don's supports local animal shelters and rescues by hosting in-store adoption events with the Front Range German Shepherd Group and the Humane Society of the South Platte Valley.
Contributions in funding and hands-on involvement go to a variety of pet-related causes, with a special focus on spaying and neutering stray animals. Team members are encouraged to become involved in volunteerism. We have initiated many ways to express this tradition through a wide variety of modes and venues:
Events, both in-store and in the community, provide free instruction clinics, adoption events and featured rescue organizations benefiting both charities and the public. See a detailed event listing by store. Interested in conducting an event at one of our stores? Please click here for information on the application process.
In-store Adoptions Chuck & Don's partners with local animal rescue organizations and most of our stores showcase 1 - 3 cats available for adoption. We also host many adoption days throughout the year. See a list of stores and their corresponding adoption organizations.
Pins For Pets is an annual bowling event which raises donations for spay and neuter programs, helping to end pet overpopulation. Participation by our Colorado store in 2011 resulted in $1,069 raised for Divine Feline Rocky Mountain Feral Cat Project. The 2011 Minnesota event raised enough to spay/neuter over 1800 pets. For more information about the Minnesota Pins for Pets see the Pins for Pets website.
Holiday Paw Prints Chuck & Don's stores collect customer donations of $1 per paw print. All donations go to animal rescues that help and care for homeless pets. Our donations in funding and volunteer/community involvement at both the corporate and store level improves the lives of thousands of homeless animals a year.
We look forward to building new relationships and community partnerships in Denver and greater Colorado in the months and years to come!
