QUESTION:

We have 2 golden's who have in the last 2-3 months developed some horrible gas after they eat. It seems to be worse after their 5pm meal. Their entire rear end smells awful. By morning it is fine. We changed from Nutro to Canidae (chicken) on recommendation of one of your employees. We are on our 2nd month and there has not been much improvement. Any ideas?????? Thanks!

ANSWER:

Dear Diane,

Sometimes it can take up to 90 days for a pet to get fully adjusted to a new food. Rather than make another change at this time, you might want to give it one more month. During that month you may want to try adding Eagle Transitions as a supplement to help them with the changeover. If after that month you are still experiencing the same problem, you may want to try a more basic formula of food, for example the California Natural line or the Natural Balance Limited Ingredient line.
