My Golden currently eats Evo which she loves and it has been really helpful in stopping her poop eating. Unfortunately she has put on almost 12 pounds since we switched food so we need to go to a lower fat food. She is allergic to poultry. Do you have any suggestions.

Thank you for contacting me about your Golden.

One really good option for you would be the Taste of the Wild, which is still a grain-free food, but much lower in fat and calories than the Evo dog food.  There are two different options which don't contain poultry products. One would be the Pacific Stream, a fish based food.  Our customers have had really good luck with this line of food.

The other option would be the Natural Balance line of foods. While the calorie count isn't much better, the fat content is much lower than the Evo. Again, there are several varieties that would work for a pet who can't have poultry: Sweet Potato and Venison, Potato and Duck, Sweet Potato and Fish. I would try the Taste of the Wild first though.
