QUESTION:

How do you get rid of fleas?

ANSWER:

Hi Betty,

It is sometimes hard to get rid of fleas. The first thing I would suggest is that you give your dog a flea bath and would ask if you are currently using any type of a preventive such as Bio Spot or Front line? This will help to make sure you cut down your chances of a reoccurring issue.

If you have other animals in the home you are going to want to have them checked also, fleas transfer to one pet to another. Then I would say to use a topical spray on your home to help kill any fleas that might have jumped to your couch, carpet or drapes. We do have what we call Foggers also if there is a little more of an issue in the home. You will want to follow the directions on the bottle or can of spray or your foggers. You need to apply more than on time do to eggs clutches hiding in the couch or an unsprayed area.

I will caution you however if you do have other pets in the home such as birds, lizards or small animals you want to bring them somewhere else while spraying. Dealing with fleas is sometimes tough but you need to make sure every area is sprayed and check because any unchecked area can be hiding fleas.

I hope this helps.
